A small loss on the upper cap of vol. 1; a tear with small losses of leather at the foot of the upper joint of vol. 1; a small loss of leather on the lower cap of vol. 5. FIFTH EDITION, expanded; the original edition was published in 1770. It is illustrated with 7 title vignettes, a FRONTISPICE, and 12 out-of-text FIGURES engraved on copper, unsigned. The publication of this work, deemed “contrary to religion and public morals,” led to its author being imprisoned and sentenced to perpetual banishment by a ruling of the Châtelet.
