The texts and illustrations were printed in various shades of blue. Two decades later, Gunnar Kaldewey decided to carry out the joint project and selected texts from John Cage’s “Lecture on Something” and “For the Birds.” - “This is a very personal book. In the early ’90s, I met John Cage many times, and he came to our home in Manhattan to look at the artist books I had created up to that point. We agreed to collaborate on a project with the working title ‘Observations on Zen,’ but John said he needed time to gather ideas. Then, he suddenly died in 1992, and I have always been saddened that nothing was ever finalized.” (G. Kaldewey). The spine of the book is faded. Unfortunately, the yellow leather of the covers has some light foxing spots.
