Finca Garbet is one of Castillo Perelada’s most iconic wines and a leading example of quality viticulture in the Empordà region. It comes from a unique terraced vineyard on slate soils, located next to the Mediterranean, north of Cap de Creus, where the maritime influence and the tramontana wind help define its character. The 2001 vintage is of particular interest as it was the first commercial release of Finca Garbet, made from Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Under the winemaking direction of Delfí Sanahuja, this wine became one of the hallmarks of the Empordà’s wine-making renaissance, characterized by its concentration, complexity, and distinct Mediterranean identity.
