Clos Erasmus, 2003. DOQ Priorat, Gratallops, Spain. Red wine. 1 bottle, 75 cl. 99/100 points from The Wine Advocate (Jay Miller, 2007). Condition: IN (Into Neck) level, located at the bottom of the neck, near its base. Front label legible, with widespread stains, dark spots, and superficial scuffs. Bottom label with stains and wear. Legible, numbered back label from the Regulatory Council, with scuffs and small areas of missing paper, especially on the far left. Black capsule with wrinkles, creases, and scuffs on the upper part; red cap with embossed emblem and superficial wear. It comes from a private collection, stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. Clos Erasmus 2003 is a vintage of great concentration and power, produced by Daphne Glorian at Clos i Terrasses, in the Priorat D.O.Q. This vintage blends 85% Grenache and 15% Syrah, aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels. Contemporary reviews describe an opulent wine with an enveloping texture, firm structure, and a very long finish: a Priorat of tremendous depth and expressiveness.
