Pagos Viejos is one of the flagship wines of Artadi, a winery founded in Laguardia in 1985 and recognized for its role in revitalizing the great wines of Rioja Alavesa. Made primarily from Tempranillo sourced from selected old vineyards, it expresses the character of the area’s clay-limestone soils and the pursuit of concentration, balance, and depth that distinguishes the winery. The 2000 vintage offers the profile of a long-aged Rioja, with notes of ripe black fruit, spices, leather, tobacco, and mineral nuances, supported by an elegant structure.
