Contador, 2003. D.O.Ca. Rioja, La Rioja, Spain. Red wine. 6 bottles of 75 cl. With its original wooden box. Opened for inspection. Robert Parker (The Wine Advocate): 99/100 points. Condition: Fill level IN (Into Neck). Original black capsules with gold emblem, intact, with slight scuffs and superficial marks. Original front labels intact and legible on all six bottles. Original back labels preserved and legible, with D.O.Ca. Rioja guarantee seals corresponding to the 2003 vintage. Original wooden case bearing the wine’s name and vintage. It comes from a private collection, stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. Contador 2003 is one of the first vintages of Benjamín Romeo’s iconic wine, produced in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, in the D.O.Ca. Rioja. Sourced from a careful selection of low-yield vineyards, it represents an interpretation of Rioja based on concentration, fruit expression, and the complexity acquired during aging. The 2003 vintage belongs to the initial phase of the Contador project’s consolidation, characterized by its limited production and its intense, structured style with a distinct personality. Its presentation in an original wooden case of six bottles adds to its appeal for collectors.
