Pingus, 1999. Ribera del Duero D.O. 1 bottle, 75 cl. 98/100 points from Robert Parker – The Wine Advocate. Condition: Grade: BN (Base Neck). Front label legible, with extensive pink stains in the center, brown mottling, scuffs, and small areas of paper loss along the top edge. Regulatory Council back label is legible, with slight scuffs and a small tear along the bottom edge. Silver capsule is intact. From a private collection, stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. The 1999 vintage belongs to the early years of Peter Sisseck’s project, born out of his interest in the old vineyards of Ribera del Duero and the expressive potential of Tempranillo. It also corresponds to a vintage officially rated “Excellent” by the Regulatory Council, making this bottle particularly noteworthy as an outstanding vintage from the early years of Pingus.
