These bottles come from a private collection, stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. Château La Mission Haut-Brion is one of the most prestigious historic estates in Graves, located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation, next to the renowned Château Haut-Brion. Its vineyards are situated on gravelly soils that promote drainage and lend a distinct character to its wines. The 2002 vintage was made from 52% Merlot and 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged in barrels, 66% of which were new. Following a relatively cool summer, favorable conditions in September allowed for balanced ripening. The wine exhibits a classic Bordeaux character, with notes of black currant, plum, spices, cedar, and toasty nuances, accompanied by a firm tannic structure and remarkable depth. Its status as a Graves Cru Classé, the estate’s prestige, and the presentation of the six bottles in their original wooden case make this set particularly appealing to collectors of fine French wines.
