Château Cos d'Estournel, 2005. A.O.C. Saint-Estèphe, Bordeaux, Gironde, France. Second Growth of 1855. Red wine. 2 bottles of 75 cl. Robert Parker (The Wine Advocate): 98/100. Condition: IN (Into neck) level in both bottles. Original maroon capsules, intact and sealed, with gold lettering and green French tax seals at the top. Main labels and back labels are complete, well-adhered, and legible. Both bottles are in good overall condition. From a private collection, stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. Château Cos d’Estournel, classified as a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé in 1855, is one of the most prestigious estates in Saint-Estèphe and a historic benchmark for the great wines of the Médoc. Its vineyards, situated on deep gravel soils with clay subsoils, produce wines of extraordinary structure, elegance, and longevity. The 2005 vintage, considered one of Bordeaux’s great vintages, stands out for its concentration, balance, and remarkable aging potential. Made primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, it offers a complex profile of black currant, blackberry, cedar, tobacco, oriental spices, and delicate mineral notes, accompanied by firm, refined tannins and a long, persistent finish.
