Château Mouton Rothschild, 2003. A.O.C. Pauillac, Bordeaux, France. Premier Grand Cru Classé in the official 1855 Bordeaux classification, following its promotion in 1973. Red wine. 1 bottle, 75 cl. James Suckling: 96/100. Condition: IN (Into Neck). Original capsule intact. Front label complete, with stains and signs of aging, secured with clear adhesive tape. Back label has minor tears at the top. From a private collection, stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. Château Mouton Rothschild is one of the great historic estates of Pauillac and one of Bordeaux’s five Premiers Grands Crus Classés. Its wines, made primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon, are noted for their concentration, complexity, and aging potential. The 2003 vintage, marked by an exceptionally hot summer, produced wines of remarkable maturity and aromatic richness. This vintage is also of particular interest to collectors: its label commemorates the 150th anniversary of Baron Nathaniel de Rothschild’s acquisition of the estate in 1853 and features his portrait on a fragment of the original purchase document, rather than the usual artwork by a contemporary artist.
