Château Mouton Rothschild, 1999. A.O.C. Pauillac, Bordeaux, France. Premier Grand Cru Classé. Red wine. 2 bottles of 75 cl. Condition: IN (Into Neck). Capsules intact with slight damage. The bottle on the left has an intact and legible label, with slight signs of aging. The bottle on the right shows widespread stains, wrinkles, abrasions, isolated areas where the paper is missing, and wear along the edges, though the identifying information and Raymond Savignac’s illustration remain legible. Original back labels are present on both bottles, with slight stains and signs of age. From a private collection, stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. Château Mouton Rothschild is one of the world’s leading names in winemaking and one of Bordeaux’s most prestigious estates. Its historic promotion to Premier Grand Cru Classé in 1973—an exceptional event within the 1855 classification—cemented its position among the most admired and collected wines internationally. The 1999 vintage also possesses a special artistic appeal thanks to its label designed by the renowned French poster artist Raymond Savignac (1907–2002), who depicted Mouton’s iconic ram through a playful and expressive composition. This collaboration pays homage to the winery’s tradition of artistic labels, which began in 1945, and forges a link with the historic 1924 label, illustrated by Jean Carlu. The combination of oenological prestige, historical tradition, and artistic uniqueness makes this set of two bottles an attractive item for collectors of fine Bordeaux wines.
