Château Mouton Rothschild, 2000. Pauillac AOC, Bordeaux, France. Premier Cru Classé. Red wine. 1 bottle of 0.75 cl. Robert Parker/The Wine Advocate: 97+/100, Lisa Perrotti-Brown, October 2019. Robert Parker gave it a 96+ in June 2010. Condition: IN (Into Neck). The front label is gold-painted directly onto the glass, featuring the château’s name, the vintage, and the ram, all of which are legible; it shows some wear and superficial marks. The back label is heavily scuffed, with widespread abrasions and some missing sections. Black capsule with ornamentation and an intact gold band. It comes from a private collection cellar, maintained under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. Château Mouton Rothschild 2000 combines the oenological appeal of a blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Merlot with a particularly unique presentation. For this vintage, the château replaced the usual artistic label with a design applied directly to the glass: the Augsburg ram, inspired by a piece of goldsmith’s work from around 1590 housed in its museum and reproduced using raised enamel. This design closely links the wine to the decorative arts.
