Le Pin, 2006. Pomerol AOC, Bordeaux, France. Red wine. 1 bottle, 75 cl. The Wine Advocate 95/100. Condition: IN (Into Neck). Front label is damaged, with extensive ochre-colored stains, dark and bluish marks, abrasions, and areas where the paper is missing. The wine’s name, appellation, vintage, and volume are identifiable. The red capsule with gold lettering is intact. From a private collection, stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. Associated with Jacques Thienpont since 1979, Le Pin comes from a small vineyard located in the heart of the Pomerol plateau. Its identity is closely linked to Merlot and to soils that combine clay, gravel, and sand with iron-rich components. The vineyard’s small scale and limited production lend this iconic wine from Bordeaux’s right bank a special appeal.
