Antique and original TEHRAN (Persian) rug, circa 1930. High-quality, silky wool pile on a cotton backing. The field radiates a beautiful luminosity. Beautiful polychromatic design. An oblong ivory field, both serrated and multi-lobed, covered with floral stems, features a ruby-red rosette with an ivory-colored center and arrow-shaped pendants, all set against a vegetative background. Four wide turquoise spandrels adorned with polychrome floral scrolls embellish the composition. The frame consists of a turquoise border featuring a series of ivory cartouches and medallions with floral bouquets, flanked by two ruby counter-borders with garlands of small flowers.
