Reinterpreting the Speedy, introduced in 1930, Pharrell Williams retained its familiar rounded silhouette while transforming its material character through exceptionally supple calfskin, vivid colour and a screen-printed Monogram. Associated with his debut collection for the house, the P9 brings a contemporary expression of luxury to a design rooted in Louis Vuitton’s travel heritage. Pharrell Williams’ Autumn/Winter 2024 “From Paris to Virginia” collection brought the imagery of the American West into dialogue with Louis Vuitton’s Parisian craftsmanship and travel heritage. Presented at the Jardin d’Acclimatation in Paris, it transformed familiar elements of Western workwear through luxurious materials and elaborate decoration: denim was embroidered with pearls and sequins, leather recalled embossed saddlery, and tailoring featured cacti, studs and turquoise embellishment. Creative exchanges with artists from the Dakota and Lakota nations contributed to the accessories, staging and music, broadening the collection’s interpretation of American Western culture.
