Baumgartner SA, on an integrated fox tail link chain and applied edge, case, dial and movement signed 39mm diameter This particular model is from the Montres Golf range, a lesser known collection designed by Gilbert Albert, which was made up of three different models; the reference 782, reference 783, and the more ornate reference 799. After studying Jewellery and Design at Geneva's Ecole des Arts Industriel, Swiss born Gilbert Albert was just 24 when his design talents were spotted by Patek Philippe and he was recruited by them to design some of what would become their most iconic watch cases. This example was an important part of his design journey as it was made by F. Baumgartner - this casemaker made other pieces for Albert, including that of the important reference 2526 and the well known Patek Ellipse.
