1139 - Chinese export porcelain crested and initialed sauce tureen and cover, Qianlong ca. 1795. The body and cover with the initials JES surmounted by a crest most likely for Sutton. The domed cover with a flower-head finial and entwined strap handles with berried terminals. Possibly for James Sutton or a Captain John Sutton who commanded the East Indiaman "Duke of Portland" in 1781.
