1128 - Chinese export armorial porcelain coffee cup and saucer, late Jiaqing or early Daoguang ca. 1820. Each with the coat of arms surrounded by flowers and the rims with a chain-link band. Provenance: The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Reference: Howard, "Chinese Armorial Porcelain," Vol. II, pg. 279 and 341. Lot Essay: The coat of arms possibly De Cardonnel impaling Belasyse. An extremely similar crest with the same coat of arms and crest of a sheaf of wheat, appears in Howard, though this example is dated some 60 years prior and the placement of the coat of arms is reversed.
