169 - Japanese Edo period suit of armor, ca. 17th-18th century. Featuring a black-lacquered russet iron akoda-nari kabuto helmet. The bowl fitted with laced five-lame shikoro, flanked by rounded fukigaeshi along either side of the nerikawa menpo (chin guard), further attached to a four-lame yodarekake (bevor). The ni-mai do (cuirass) is decorated with leather hide and complimented by a pair of chainmail kote sleeves reinforced by three-lame vambrace guards and culminating in molded tekko (gauntlets).
