ONOFRE GARÍ I TORRENT (Charleston, U.S., 1872 – Barcelona, 1920). "Fishing Village." Oil on canvas. Signed. Measurements: 30 x 55 cm; 45 x 68 cm (frame). Provenance: Estate of Ramon Martí Alsina and Ricard Martí Aguiló. Artistic and heritage collection originating in the legacy of Catalan painters Ramon Martí Alsina (1826–1894), a seminal figure of 19th-century Catalan Realism, and his son Ricard Martí Aguiló (1857–1935). Passed down and enriched across successive generations, the collection brings together works from the original holdings of both artists alongside acquisitions made by their descendants. Dedicated to preserving and recovering the family legacy, the descendants actively reacquired works by the painters as they entered the market, progressively expanding the collection to encompass paintings, sculptures, archaeological artifacts, and other items of artistic and historical significance. Catalan painter born in the U.S. He pursued his artistic career between Madrid and Barcelona. On November 11, 1895, he held a major solo exhibition at Ricardo Hernández’s galleries in Madrid, presenting a collection of seascapes, including the works *Prize Without Joy*, *Fishermen on the Barcelona Pier*, *Fishermen Waiting*, *Montjuïc*, *Net Dyers*, as well as several sketches and views of the Catalan coast. He participated in the 1896 Barcelona exhibitions with *Tomando un rizo* and in the 1898 exhibition with *Tiradores de Jábega*. Also noteworthy is his extensive participation in the Robira Salons in 1898.
