Table lamp, ca. 1910–1920. Bronze and glass. It has a patina consistent with its age. Measurements: 45 x 26 x 19 cm. Provenance: Estate of Ramon Martí Alsina and Ricard Martí Aguiló. Artistic and heritage collection originating in the legacy of Catalan painters Ramon Martí Alsina (1826–1894), a seminal figure of 19th-century Catalan Realism, and his son Ricard Martí Aguiló (1857–1935). Passed down and enriched across successive generations, the collection brings together works from the original holdings of both artists alongside acquisitions made by their descendants. Dedicated to preserving and recovering the family legacy, the descendants actively reacquired works by the painters as they entered the market, progressively expanding the collection to encompass paintings, sculptures, archaeological artifacts, and other items of artistic and historical significance. This table lamp reflects the ornamental style of late Art Nouveau, particularly evident in the sinuous and asymmetrical form of the stem, which rises in a continuous curve to support the shade. The structure is embellished with small applied floral motifs, while the base features undulating contours that extend the organic character of the piece. The metal shade, with a hemispherical profile, combines smooth surfaces with a martelé-textured band and incorporates white glass cabochons with an opalescent appearance. The hallmarks of the bronze structure, the floral motifs, and these glass elements place the piece within the European decorative tradition derived from Jugendstil and Art Nouveau.
