Giummo and his book *Messaggi dal Caos, 1918–1920: Nine Unpublished and Autograph Poems by Luigi Pirandello*, Editorie Porto Seguro, Borghetto Lodigiano (LO), 2022. The poems, which had remained unpublished, are titled as follows: I. In umbra II. Andare III. Tree That Stretches Out Its Black Tangle IV. The Path V. Selva di San Nicola – Hotel des Temples VI. O Liliana VII. Through the Blossoming Almond Grove… VIII. And May No One Love Her Anymore! IX. Smile The back of the postcards features the poems written by Pirandello, while the spine is decorated with illustrations attributed to Harrison Fisher and Luigi Bompard. The collection of poems is housed within a custom-made frame, which in turn is stored in a special box. The lot is accompanied by a research paper written by Lucio C. Giummo, a scholar who identified and thoroughly examined the corpus of poems, along with one of his publications dedicated to the discovery of the postcards. The study reconstructs the circumstances of the discovery, provides a transcription and analysis of the texts, and conducts a comparative analysis of the handwriting using graphological, graphoscopic, and graphonomic methodologies, with the aim of attributing the manuscripts to Luigi Pirandello. This lot constitutes a particularly interesting testament to Pirandello’s poetic and manuscript output from the early 20th century. *Delivery of this lot is limited to Italy only.
