Sold without box or papers. It all began in 1833 in the Joux Valley, Switzerland, where Antoine LeCoultre opened his watchmaking workshop. In Paris, Edmond Jaeger devoted himself to precision instruments starting in 1880, and later to onboard equipment for automobiles and aviation. In 1903, he began a collaboration with Jacques-David LeCoultre on ultra-thin movements, combining Parisian design with Swiss engineering. The Caliber 101, unveiled in 1929, exemplifies this pursuit of miniaturization. Two years later, the “Reverso” was introduced, featuring a case that pivots to protect the dial. The name Jaeger-LeCoultre was adopted in 1937. The Jaeger name remains associated with onboard instruments, another facet of this watchmaking history.
