Life and Work, exhibition marking the 100th anniversary of Otto Freytag’s birth, Obere Galerie/Haus am Lützowplatz, Berlin, 1988, p. 45. - Double-sided oil painting by Otto Freytag (1888–1980); on the reverse, a note regarding an alternative title: “H. Hesse, Still Life with Shell and Striped Cloth, O. Freytag.” - On the front, the paint surface is partially soiled, yellowed in the light-colored areas, with slight material wear along the edges of the canvas; on the reverse, the paint surface is also grayed and soiled in the lighter areas, the glazed artist’s frame is partially chipped and has patchy areas of paint on the edges.
