Bock 1134/IV. — The sleeping woman is Menzel’s sister Emilie, who later became Mrs. Kigar. — The print is mounted on a backing in the upper corners; it is slightly browned, has light discoloration around the edges, and shows slight rubbing, waviness, and fingerprints. - Also included. By the same artist. The Schafgraben. Drypoint on Japanese paper. 1843. Image dimensions: 16.5 x 23 cm. Sheet dimensions: 30 x 42.4 cm. - Bock 1145/IV. - Motif depicting Berlin as it was at the time. - The sheet is mounted on a backing along the upper edge; it is slightly browned—somewhat more so within the mat cutout—and shows foxing, with rare instances of minimal soiling. - Provenance: Walter Bauer Collection, Fulda.
