The map of the United States of America, including Mexico and parts of Canada, is based on the expedition reports of Lewis & Clark and Humboldt. All maps bear the dry-stamped inscription "Carte encyprotipe du fonds de l'auteur." - Margins are somewhat stained; several maps have been reinforced at the ends of the folds and are partially torn again.
