First edition. - Goedeke V, 14, 33, 2 - Ziegenfuß II, 559: “The plan for the major philosophical work *Erwin* was established early on. As early as 1800, Solger noted: ‘I have conceived the plan to write a book in the form of dialogues. It is to combine philosophy with poetry and cover several philosophical subjects. A very good central theme would likely be a young man who, with lofty ideals of love and friendship, has been turned away from faith in humanity by the callousness of most people and is set back on the right path by wise friends. This could contain part of my inner story.” - Slightly discolored or spotted. *
