This almanac by the Holstein mathematician, surveyor, and prolific calendar maker is not verifiable to us. The satirical frontispiece bears a publisher’s note dated 1756 by the Braunschweig copperplate engraver Johann Georg Schmidt; the engravings caricature erotic situations such as infidelity (“Gout Baroc”), premature ejaculation (“Schöps Hubert”), or copulation (“Sword in the Sheath”). Unusual is the glimmering highlight on clothing, headdresses, necklines, etc. — Slightly tanned and worn, a perforation mark with a smudge on the opposite page’s text; otherwise in good condition.
