One of 895 copies in the limited worldwide edition on van Gelder handmade paper bearing the watermark of an ox’s head with a staff and a star. - The two missing leaves (leaf 129 in Volume I and leaf 249 in Volume II) were reproduced as facsimiles based on the corresponding leaves in the Fulda and Göttingen copies. The binding of the Erfurt “Master with the Lute Player and the Knot” from around 1460, held by the Hessian State Library in Fulda, was faithfully reproduced for part of this edition—in both materials and technique—by the Ernst Ammering bookbindery in Ried, Austria. - Does not include the commentary volume. - A magnificent and elaborately produced facsimile edition.
