First edition. — Stammhammer III 350, 6. — Venedey (1805–1871) was persecuted and imprisoned in Germany as a critical author and participant in the Hambach Festival. After the political upheaval in February 1848, Venedey returned to Germany from his exile in Paris, participated in the Provisional Parliament, became a member of the Committee of Fifty, and, along with Robert Blum and Johann Jacoby, belonged to the left wing. - Some foxing. *
