Rosenthal Cat. 89 1928—A rare contemporary leaflet about the assassination attempt and the subsequent punishment. Detailed description of the dagger, brief biography of the assassin, and details of the execution. The assassin, Robert François Damiens, was tortured, then quartered and burned. It was one of the most gruesome executions of modern times and the last of its kind in France. — Tanned and with minor tears. *
