Glauber presents all these findings based on the instructions for building the four ‘philosophical’ furnaces … In the fifth part and the appendices, he describes various laboratory instruments, techniques, and procedures that he invented.” (Gugel). - “This is Glauber’s most important book, upon which his fame as a chemist rests.” (Duveen). - It was written during his first stay in Amsterdam from 1646 to 1649.
