First German edition. — Bertholon (1741–1800), a priest of the Order of St. Lazarus and a friend of Benjamin Franklin, taught physics in Montpellier, at the École Centrale de l’Hérault, and in Lyon. He became famous for his works on physics, particularly on electricity. - This work deals with the influence of atmospheric electricity on plant physiology.
