Günther Uecker* (1930-2025), Construction drawing 'Sandspirale', 2004 (with photo and catalog) Pencil drawing on paper. 61 x 86 cm. Inscribed lower left: Sandspirale. Signed lower right: Uecker '04. Framed and described as such. Photograph of the installation Sandspirale with a 3m diameter in the Arp Museum, Rolandseck, by Andreas Bayer, Bonn, inscribed lower center: '300 Sandspirale'. 24 x 31 cm. Framed. Uecker's first sand spiral was created in 1965. The sand spiral is a work of endless movement. The formation of the sand is subject to constant change, and that is precisely Uecker's aim - to make visible time and the change of the ever-present. Drawing tracks in the sand takes up the idea of a plow and is reminiscent of Uecker's childhood on his parents' farm.
