Pillement / 1807' (lower right), the second signed 'V. Pillement' (lower right), each 17.9 x 25.5 cm., two (2). Provenance: Anon. sale, Christie's, London, 7 December 2005, lot 445. Note: Pillement was the son of the Rococo painter Jean-Baptiste Pillement (1728-1808). He established himself in Paris and is best known for his landscape drawings and engravings, often depicting idyllic scenes with winding rivers and grand architecture.
