After the Master of the Orléans Triptych, French fl. late 15th-early 16th century- A triptych: the central panel: The Annunciation; left wing: David; right wing: Isaiah; the verso of the wings decorated with golden fleur-de-lis over blue; oil on three panels, all held in engaged frames, the central panel signed 'A. LION' (lower left, next to the Virgin's cloak), central panel 60 x 48 cm, left wing 23.7 x 59.9 cm., right wing 23.7 x 59.9 cm. Note: The present lot is an early 20th century copy by an artist signed 'A. Lion' after the Master of the Orléans Triptych of the Annunciation with David and Isaiah, c.1500, made in Limoges, enamel on copper with gold highlights. It is held at the Walters Art Museum since acquired by Henry Walters in 1917 [acc. no. 44.316]. Another version is at the Museum of History and Archaeology of Orléans [inv. no. A.6947].
