Mabel Heredia’s work explores the expressive possibilities of gestural abstraction to evoke unknown realities and phenomena that transcend everyday perception. Part of the “CONTACT” series, “The Portal” depicts a threshold between dimensions, inspired by the imagery of extraterrestrial encounters and the mysteries of the universe. The composition is structured around a large circular form composed of black strokes, whose luminous center contrasts with the background of ochre, gray, and earthy tones. The energetic brushstrokes, linear incisions, and small clusters of marks create a sense of movement and visual tension. Mabel Heredia is a Valencian artist based in Barcelona whose practice focuses on abstract painting, combining gestural elements, textures, and chromatic hallmarks.
