He is particularly known for his winter scenes and depictions of skiers, which, with their characteristic retro charm, are reminiscent of Alfons Walde and Herbert Gurschner and translate alpine motifs into a vibrant, high-contrast visual language. Waldner combines the clear forms and emotional tension of Expressionism with a stylized, sometimes nostalgic, interpretation of the Tyrolean landscape and way of life. His work thus connects to a long line of Tyrolean art, in which influences ranging from classical Modernism to distinctive regional forms of expression converge. PLEASE NOTE: The purchase price consists of the highest bid plus the buyer's premium, sales tax and, if applicable, the fee of artists resale rights and platform fee.
