He subsequently continued his training at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence. His engagement with Italian art—particularly its traditions regarding spatial composition, the handling of light, and figurative painting—played a formative role in his further development. He lived and worked in Italy from 1928 to 1938, initially in Florence and later primarily in Milan. He held several solo exhibitions there; in 1932, he presented his work in a solo exhibition in Milan while also being represented in an exhibition in Subotica. His years in Italy laid the foundation for his synthesis of classically structured figuration and modern, atmospherically dense painting. PLEASE NOTE: The purchase price consists of the highest bid plus the buyer's premium, sales tax and, if applicable, the fee of artists resale rights and platform fee.
