Heinrich Bertlich, Gelsenkirchen 1886–1977. “As a student of Eugen Bracht—one of the most successful German landscape painters at the turn of the century—Ernst Kolbe developed a keen sensibility for the landscape. In addition to subjects from Pomerania and West Prussia, his work also includes Baltic Sea beaches, harbor views, and Alpine panoramas.
