A unique piece of furniture from the immediate entourage of Emperor Wilhelm II, solid mahogany, 3 drawers, 2 doors, 1 false drawer, hinged lid. Vanity chest, likely part of the furnishings in the Empress’s bedrooms aboard the imperial steam yacht Hohenzollern II, built in 1893. On the back: a brand mark “KM” with the Imperial Crown and a stenciled mark “Hohenzollern”; brass fittings additionally stamped “KM”; dimensions: 82 cm x 64 cm x 53 cm. Acquired in 1922 at the liquidation auction of the Imperial Yacht Hohenzollern at the Bremen Vegesack shipyard.
