Tapio Wirkkala (1915–1985) gained international recognition in the early 1950s, following the rise of Finnish industrial design. He was a particularly versatile and prolific designer who worked with a wide range of materials and created both everyday objects and unique works of art. Hämeenlinna, Finland, Kultakeskus Oy, 1960.
