Metallic lusterware plate. Possibly from Paterna, Valencia. Hispano-Arabic tradition. 19th century Glazed ceramic with metallic luster decoration. Measures 41 x 41 cm. Large circular plate decorated in copper tones with a complex composition of vegetal scrolls, stylized flowers, and motifs inspired by Hispano-Muslim ornamental traditions. In the center is a courtly scene composed of schematic figures surrounded by a dense decorative pattern that covers almost the entire surface. The richness of the design and the rhythmic repetition of the elements create a visual effect of extraordinary ornamental intensity, characteristic of pieces inspired by medieval Valencian metallic lusterware. The white glaze serves as a backdrop for the golden highlights, recreating the luminous qualities that made Hispano-Arabic pottery famous. The piece reflects the 19th-century historicist interest in reviving Mudéjar designs and stands as a striking example of the continuity of Valencian ceramic traditions within modern decorative production.
