Monumental Spanish Renaissance palace gate featuring a medallion of a Jacobean pilgrim, Castilian School, 16th century Wrought iron, gilded and polychromed, with gilded and polychromed wooden appliqués. Measures 379 x 458 cm. An exceptional monumental ironwork of architectural character belonging to the repertoire of the Spanish Renaissance of the first half of the 16th century. Its balanced combination of architecture, decorative sculpture, and religious symbolism places it among the most outstanding examples of 16th-century Spanish artistic ironwork, a discipline in which Spain ...
