Chinese stool - China, early 20th century. Polychrome and gilded “Canton” porcelain stool, cylindrical in shape, with rich decoration of rose-colored enamels on a gold background. The body features extensive polylobed panels depicting palace scenes populated by numerous figures, dignitaries, and servants, amidst architectural and garden elements; flowers, foliage, fruits, butterflies, and birds; medallions with flowering vases, friezes of Greek key patterns, and gilt cabochons in relief, as well as openwork openings in the form of stylized Chinese coins.
