Date: 1810 Description: Representative portrait of the French King Henri IV (1553-1610), standing in three-quarter view, his left hand on his hip, his right leaning on a brocade-covered table. The king is wearing a quilted doublet and breeches, a ruff and the Order of the Holy Spirit - the highest French knightly order. His hat lies on the table next to him. The background shows a column and a gathered drapery typical of official Baroque portraits. The depiction follows a well-known composition by Frans Pourbus the Younger.
