RONDAHL (1858-1914), Study of an oak leaf, around 1880, Pen drawing Emmery Rondahl (1858 Vordingborg - 1914 Copenhagen): Study of an oak leaf, c. 1880, Pen drawing Technique: Pen drawing and Pencil on Paper Date: c. 1880 Description: Study sheet by the Danish artist Rondahl. On the recto there is a precisely drawn oak sheet in natural size as well as small nature sketches and architectural elements with plant ornamentation. On the verso are individual depictions of the tomb of the Danish-Norwegian naval officer Peter Wessel Tordenskiold (1690-1720) in the Holmens kirke in Copenhagen. Keywords: 19th century, Romanticism, Botany, Denmark, Size: Paper: 19,9 cm x 26,7 cm (7,8 x 10,5 in) Condition: Good condition. Faintly spotted in places. The left edge of the page is slightly damaged by detachment from a book binding.
