A monumental chronological and genealogical chart of the Kings of France published in 1829. It provides a concise overview of French history, beginning with Pharamond and ending with Charles X. For each monarch, the duration of the reign is indicated, along with a brief biographical note highlighting key events, inventions, discoveries, and famous figures associated with the period. Wall charts depicting the history of France constitute a distinct genre of printed material: folio-sized, poster-format pieces that can be quite large (up to over one meter in height) and present, on one or more sheets, a synoptic overview of the entire national past from its origins. A magnificent engraving enhanced with watercolor and mounted on canvas. In very good condition.
