TWO POSTERS: 1) THE POETRY OF ANGELO BARILE: ACADEMIC CONFERENCE, ALBISOLA, MAY 14–15, 1977, VILLA GAVOTTI DELLA ROVERE. Dimensions: 69 x 100 cm. The poster is a collector’s item linked to the legacy of Angelo Barile (1888–1967), a renowned Ligurian poet of the hermetic school who was a native of Albissola Marina. The 1977 conference at Villa Gavotti was one of the key moments in the scholarly assessment of his work; the papers presented there were later compiled into the official volume of the conference proceedings, published in 1978. Barile was part of that circle of poets—including Montale and Cardarelli—and of the magazine *Solaria*, in which the seagull often appears as a symbol of the human condition or the freedom of the mind; one need only think of Vincenzo Cardarelli’s famous poem “I gabbiani” (“The Seagulls”). 2) FRANCO GENTILINI, METASTASIO GALLERY, PRATO, OCTOBER 1980. Dimensions: 66 x 95 cm. This original poster for Franco Gentilini’s exhibition, held at the Metastasio Art Gallery in Prato in November 1980, is an important historical and artistic document linked to the final phase of the renowned Faenza-born painter’s career (1909–1981). This poster was printed specifically to promote the exhibition curated by Milena Milani and strongly supported by gallery owner Carlo Palli, who had just opened the historic Prato gallery at that time. It was one of the very last exhibitions held during the artist’s lifetime; he died a few months later, in April 1981. On that occasion, among the various works on textured and sandy backgrounds typical of the artist, the famous 1980 painting “Cathedral with Table” was also exhibited (source: Rome Quadriennale – arbiQ).
