64 - FAYE DUNAWAY & MARCELLO MASTROIANNI

FAYE DUNAWAY & MARCELLO MASTROIANNI A couple cast as shadows during the filming of Vittorio De Sica’s movie “Amanti” (The Time of Lovers), 1968. Photograph, vintage silver print, annotated on the back. 20 x 25.6 cm. A thumbtack hole in each corner. Note: Their entwined silhouettes are cast as shadows during the filming of *Amanti* (*The Time of Lovers*), a romantic drama directed by Vittorio De Sica in 1968. Faye Dunaway plays Julia, an American woman suffering from an incurable illness who chooses to spend her final days in Italy. She meets Valerio, played by Marcello Mastroianni, and begins a relationship with him that is as intense as it is fleeting. The image thus echoes the secret and fleeting nature of this love, doomed by the passage of time.
